Aleta currently resides in the little sleepy town of Carpinteria, California, where she lives with her husband and two young children. Much of Aleta's landscape inspiration is derived from personal experiences exploring the rolling hills, mountain backdrops, and ocean-scapes of the beautiful west coast. Working in both oil and acrylic paint, Aleta creates vibrant paintings using mostly a palette knife to help achieve a rich and expressive quality to the canvas. This is achieved by incorporating what she has coined as, "Color Memory" into her work. Color Memory, like a time capsule, is when an artist uses both memory and feeling of a place through the use of expressive colors, to enhance the painting.using multiple senses.
